All-WET (all weather evapotransportation) is a research project investigating spatial patterns of all-weather evapotranspiration (ET). ET quantifies the transport of water from land to the atmosphere. In the ALL-WET project, we apply novel satellite remote sensing methods to study ET over the Sengal basin in West Africa. In particular, we utilize microwave based data which are tolerant to clouds. Thereby, microwave satellites provide all weather estimations of ET which is highly relevant in sub tropical and tropical regions of the world, like the Senegal basin, which are generally strongly affected by cloud cover.
